Pigmentation

What is skin pigmentation?

Skin pigmentation disorders affect the colour of your skin. Specialised skin cells give your skin colour by making a substance called melanin. When these cells become damaged or unhealthy, it affects melanin production. Some pigmentation disorders affect patches of skin on your face, hands, shoulders or other parts of your body.Hormone therapy, pregnancy, Addison's disease, age and sun exposure all can make your skin darker in irregular patches. These patches can make your skin look blotchy or unevenly toned.

How can I remove unwanted pigmentation?

The IPL Skin Pigmentation treatment is applied to the unwanted pigment area by ipl-treatplacing a hand-held treatment unit on your skin. This generates an intense pulse of light into the skin which is absorbed by elements with colour in the skin called chromophores. These chromophores include melanin (brown patches in pigmented areas.) Once the light hits the chromophore it turns to heat energy. This heat energy destroys the abnormal areas, but leaves the normal healthy skin unscathed. The skin works quickly to mop up the debris and begins a natural healing process which sheds the unwanted pigment. The result is a firmer, softer and evenly toned skin.

Inaar Skin and Body have developed treatment protocols that utilise a variety of techniques to even out pigmentation spots and reduce the signs of sundamage.

Pigmentation should evenly disapear without visible signs of where the technician has been and not been. On the same day we took the above post treatment photo, we also did another treatment. Notice the pigmentation has risen and darkened. This will eventually fall off the skin after a period of 7-21 days. Again, you will notice no visible track marks.4-7-13-074
