Lash Extensions

img_2797-1Eyelash extensions are individual silk, synthetic or mink lashes adhered one by one to your existing eyelashes. They are almost weightless, feel and look completely natural, and are available in different lengths, thickness and curls to create your desired effect. The choice of designs available ranges from a completely classic natural (although enhanced) look, a sassy sexy cats eye look, or the ultimate glamorous full look. What ever look is decided upon, the lashes will add fullness and really open up your eyes making an incredible difference to your appearance and how you feel about yourself.

They are bonded one by one to your own lashes and last for 2-4 weeks (depending on your peronal lash growth pattern) before you will need a top up. Usually top ups are needed every three to four weeks, but if you decide not to have a top up because you’re only having them done for a special occasion such as a wedding, they will last 4-6 weeks before the last one falls off, sometimes even longer if they are well looked after.img_2798

We only use the best eyelash extensions available and we are fussy about the qaulity of the glue and we avoid the use of formeldhyde where possible to reduce risk of severe allergies. We use sensitive glues and light weight lashes to avoid breakage. Too often lash technicians place volume over the long term health and safety of your lashes, this results in heavy synthetic lashes that break and eventually distort your lash follicle leading to severely and possibly permanently damaged lash growth.

We prefer to go easy and light during your initial lash set, we can always build volume as you get used to the lashes. We povide, classic, hybris, 3D, 4D and 5D applications, but only if your lashes are suited to these sorts of techniques. We use a variety of lash styles, long stem, short stem, fanned, eliptical or flat. It all depends on your needs and the type of lashes you naturally have.

If you wish to maintain your lashes then we suggest regular infills. Your technician will suggest a time frame that suits your natural lash growth cycle and glue adhesion. Regular care of the lashes is important and our technician will assist you with advice on how to best look after your lashes. We stock lash serums for repair and strengthening of natural lashes post extensions.

Please call our technicians regarding best booking times and be sure to rebook for your regular infills. Price varies from $99-$149 for a full set of lashes depedning on style and application technique.

Aftercare: Such an important topic. Your lashes will need extra attention and care, more than required for natural lashes. Here is a list of some improtant things to consider when getting lash extensions:

  • Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 24hrs. This allows time for the lash glue to bond strongly.
  • In the first 24hrs, avoid rubbing, pulling or sqaushing your lashes. Gently brush and tidy your lashes. This helps to keep the bond clean and straight.
  • Despite the requirement to avoid water for the first 24hrs, you will need to keep your lashes very clean to avoid infection. Use a gentle cleanser with a small soft brush will help remove oil, makeup and bacteria. Your technician will advise you on the best cleansing solution to use.
  • Blow dry your lashes using cool air after cleasning. Blow dry your lashes after showering to keep them dry. This avoids fungal and bactrial growth.
  • Avoid rubbing or sqaushing your lashes.
  • Avoid mascara. You won't really need any.
  • Brush your lashes regularly, this trains them to sit the way you desire and keeps them from glumping.
  • Avoid wearing makeup to your lash application or infill. If the technician has to wash your lashes, it may effect the adhesion of the glue. It's best to have all makeup and oil residue removed before your appointment. We use a prepping solution to remove natural oils but this may not remove waterproof mascaras.
  • After 2-3 weeks the glue will start to break down, it may look a little clumpy. Brush your lashes regulalry to remove any glue residue and other debris. Good glue breaks down, strong adhesives can become brittle and break lashes even though they may last longer. We avoid breakage by using gentle and dissolvable glues.
  • Your lashes will have spots that will not grow lashes at times. This is due to uneven lash growth. Your technician will let you know when this occurs, do not panic, this is perfectly normal.
  • Remember that infills never look as perfect as the first set, many lashes will be loosening and glue will be breaking down. Your technician will remove any loose lashes to help keep them tidy.
  • It's important to get a clean new set every 4-5th infill, this keeps your lashes clean and healthy. This may include removal of lashes.
  • Do not PULL OFF your lashes, we know when this happens!! Ask your technician to remove your lashes if you no longer desire them. Pulling, tugging or plucking will cause injury to the hair follicle, this may lead to long term injury.
  • Lash serums and protein builders are great to use when you are requiring a break from lash extensions.
